Biography

Virginia Lee was best-known for her small, but key role, as "Jeannie" in the jazz bar scene of the classic film noir, _D.O.A. , and four grandchildren. She died on Nov. 22, 2008 and was buried at Tan-Yan Cemetery in Camas Valley, Oregon.

Miss New York of 1921 (The first Miss America Pageant).

Chosen to represent New York in the first Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, Virginia was placed in a special "professional" category due to her already established film career. She won awards in the "Inter-City Beauty Contest" as the most charming professional, and a second prize trophy in the "Bathers Revue".
