Timo Andres (b. 1985, Palo Alto, California) is an American composer and pianist based in Brooklyn, NY. He received both bachelor's and master's degrees from the [l=Yale University School Of Music], and is currently one-sixth of a composers' collective [b]Sleeping Giant[/b]. Andres has commissioned works for [a=Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra], [a=The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra], [a=New World Symphony Orchestra], [a=Orpheus Chamber Orchestra], [a=Elias String Quartet], [a=Jonathan Biss] and [a=The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra], [a=Kirill Gerstein], [a=Third Coast Percussion], [a=Attacca Quartet], [a=The New York Philharmonic Orchestra], [a=Takács Quartet] and other musicians and ensembles. He has toured the United States with [a=Gabriel Kahane], and frequently appears with [a=Philip Glass], performing Glass' complete piano [i]Etudes[/i].
