Veteran character actor best known for his role as Chief OHara on the television series "Batman" . He became a wealthy man through a business partnership in a chain of car washes before his early death at age 56.

American character actor of 1950s Westerns and crime dramas who played many policemen during his career. Coincidentally, his brother was a real life police officer.

His Irish brogue as Chief OHara on the television series "Batman" was not real. He developed the Irish brogue for the role.

He suffered a fatal heart attack on November 5, 1974 while at the Hollywood Park racing track. After his death, his sister, a television writer, established the Stafford Repp Memorial Scholarship for alumni of his alma mater, Lowell High School.

Started his acting career in mid-life after his World War II stint in the United States Army Air Corps.

His breakthrough came when he was hired to create sound effects during the "golden age" of television.

Attended and graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco, California.

After his death, he was interred at Westminister Memorial Park in Westminister, California.
