Romanian composer and conductor, born in Bucharest, 11 April 1901; died in Zürich, 2 February 1954. He studied at the Bucharest Conservatory (1919-20), with Karg-Elert at the Leipzig Conservatory (1920-23) and with d′Indy and Ravel in Paris (1924). He was conductor of the Radio Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra (1930-51) and taught at the conservatory..
