Silent Blue were a band formed by Markus Holler (Aka Marcus Holler) in 1986 on his leaving post Barracudas band The Fortunate Sons. The band existed until 1991 sometimes also going under the name Sugarbush. The 6 album Tune In is notable also for being Nigel Godrich first ever credit on a record. The band played all over the South East of England from 1988 to 1991. The original line up was Markus Holler, Graham Armfield, Dave Martyn and Kevin Martyn. Graham Armfield and Kevin Martyn were replaced in June 1990 by Rick Corcoran and Tam Johnston. Dave Martyn passed away suddenly in January 1991 and Tim McTighe took over on bass duties. The band split in July 1991 but quickly reformed, minus Markus Holler (who had started Sugarbush Records) as The Green Tambourines who then recorded as Orgone Box a cult album in 1996. Silent Blue’s recorded output includes the flexi disc, mini LP but also a number of tracks on Markus Holler’s later CD “Achin’ For Summer” which was released in 2002 but which had first been released as a 50 copy cassette release in 1992...
