Czech vocalist and actor. Born March 16, 1921 in Plzeň to a Czech father and a Brazilian mother whose last name he later adopted. Died December 12, 1986 in Krásná Lípa (former Czechoslovakia). Often [i]incorrectly[/i] spelt as “Cortéz”. As an actor, among others he played the main character “Limonádový Joe” in the original [i]theatre[/i] play of the same title (the film from 1964 was starring Karel Fiala instead of Cortés)..
