Vanishing of the Bees is a thoughtful and informative look at the potential reasons behind colony collapse disorder (CCD), in contrast to so many documentaries which are alarmist and sensationalist. As an amateur beekeeper I am interested in bees, of course, but I saw this film to better educate myself on where our food comes from.

This is such an important topic, as you know, so much of our food system is incidentally being reproduced by the pollen being transfered from one flower to another when bees are foraging, and this movies deals with the subject of their "mysterious" disparitions. because there is no way to prove pesticides and monoculture kills them in the long time.

I was shocked at the amount of information in this ultimate, must see video. The entire story of the amount of work that goes into the very essence of bee-keeping is fascinating!

As far as educational documentaries go… this one hits all the right notes! As a lover of narrative film with an average concern for environmental and social activism, this film left me moved towards action and well informed.

No matter what you know about Honeybees, this movie will give you something new. Most everyone now knows, at least in passing, that Honeybees are in trouble.

This film, like many other noteworthy independent documentaries that aim to educate the public, is necessary viewing for everyone who appreciates the food they eat and the intricate web of life they're a part of. It's also, especially, for those who do not.

I run a small organic apiary in Washington State. I took a year long course in bee keeping and read every book out there before I even started with my first colony.

If you've been paying attention to the news over past few years, you've no doubt heard about vanishing populations of honey bees throughout the world. However, the implications of this epidemic are often over-looked or fall by the wayside.

Very educational and topical. The food supply of the world is highly dependent on the abilities of the honeybees.
