I started watching and stopped immediately after seeing black Zeus, Hera and Athena. After some time ok let's give it a chance, but this is too much.
I have no problem whatsoever with "re-imagining" an epic. Homer's Iliad after all is a surviving version of what was probably many different telling of this story, based on combining facts and legend/mythic archetype.
I created this account just so I could leave a review on this one specific TV Show. As a Greek I am deeply offended by this!
After having seen seven episodes I was curious about what the rating might be. I was certainly expecting something lije 8.
I enjoyed watching this show! I am not one being pedantic about the facts and how accurately myths and Homer's writing were portrayed.
An insult to a great culture. To the filmmakers, you're not being "tolerant", you're being idiotic and disrespectful.
Started watching this after finishing the Spartacus series (which was great). Sadly I only got through half of Troy: fall of a city.
With all due deference to the multitude of apparent Homeric scholars out there, this is a pretty interesting interpretation of the classic tale. It's not fast paced.
