Near the end where Danny/Tom asks Jimmy to do a favor, the amount of soda in the bottle on the table changes between shots.

In the final scene where Danny is being wheeled into the emergency room on a stretcher, there is no wound on his left shoulder, even though Morgan had recently stabbed him there.

When the 357 Mag revolver is taped under the table, some shots reveal that it does not have any ammo in it.

There is no needle on the syringe when Val jams it into the cop's neck.

In a few shots just before Danny is stabbed in the shoulder by the cop, when he is holding the 357 mag there is still visible bullets in the barrel.

Then in the following sequence when the cop is holding the gun, it is revealed to be empty from Danny already firing the 8 shots.

Morgan and Garcetti, as well as "Bubba" reference "Palmdale PD," when there is no such department; law enforcement for Palmdale along with the rest of the Antelope Valley is handled by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

When listing the ingredients needed to manufacture methamphetamine, Tom/Danny states that match heads are needed for the red phosphorus - in fact, the phosphorus is located in the striking surface of the matchbooks.

An Entertaining and Underappreciated Movie. Val Kilmer is great as Danny Parker.

This opens like in a film noir, with a narrator in his last moments musing on who he really is, the house around him is on fire and he's playing the trumpet. We swoop into him to find where it all went awry and he lost himself.

I've seen this one quite a few times, and the whole melancholy 'thing' with Val Kilmer's character switching back and forth in time, with the fire and the trumpet and the confusion as to who he was, is and will be, has a real attractive quality to it, for lack of a better word. When his two personalities are both dead in the end, and yet a third one comes out hopeful in the end, it's simply one of those few original film noir endings that we're all hoping to discover every now and then.

The test of the time is probably the best test that a movie can pass or fail. I have seen The Salton Sea two weeks ago, and did not have time to write immediately about it.

In this movie's opening scene, a man surrounded by money, photos and flames sits on the floor of a small room playing his trumpet. What's most noticeable is the deeply melancholic sound of his music and his total lack of concern about the obvious danger he's in.

The salton sea is a strange film. Not that good to be considered a cult but not that bad to be completely obscure as the film is today.

I started using the IMDb recently, its quiet addictive really if your a movie fanatic, i used to check into rottentomatoes every time i wanted to know about a film, or the well respected wikipedia.the great thing about this site that it always appreciate art & intelligence, rarely you find a high rating for a dumb movie.

This is an excruciating yet mesmerizing drama. It is a story of a man's despair and desperation due to his wife's death and what he does about it.

I saw a poster to this movie a long time ago and found it sort of interesting but never seen the trailer in theaters although I tend to go to the movies a lot back than. Especially with it's tagline, which didn't help get a understanding of what this movie is about.
