I will admit that my primary interest in this series was its connection to the Romanov family - I thought that was going to be a central plot/thread. Like many others have said, in most episodes, all it involves is a throw away line like, "You know I'm a Romanov - the Russian royalty that was slaughtered?
Diane Lane plays a mom. Worst performance ever.
Very good story telling and acting. If you post close attention, all the stories are unexpectedly linked with each other.
But then it went off the rails ... especially 3 and 4 which were so la la land specific it was hard to know how the average viewer was supposed to relate.
Great original plot twists. Great directing and acting.
Each episode had very good acting surrounding the stories of supposed descendents of the Romanoffs.

This review is based off of the first episode only.Okay, first off, this series was filmed digitally and it lacks the cinematic quality of Weiner's Mad Men...
Can't get enough of the style. Comforting.
