Reviews

The plot started out well but I found the story grew over involved and dramatized to ridiculous lengths. I did not care for the choice of leading lady, Christina Ricci and felt she pulled away from the true character of a person who would be in that position by over dramatizing the character and the series would have faired well if the role had been played by someone who showed more emotion in their eyes and less threat of "constant in your face" attitude".

How did this happen, I like the idea of a tiny, female evil genius, unfortunately, it's a fail, everyone dies, good, bad, indifferent, there are no consequences, no follow through, characters change allegiance on the spur of the moment, bad editing, silly writing and frankly, although I like Ricci, she's not a very good actress and this just makes the whole mess -- messier. And then to wastefully bring in major historical bad asses like Tom Horn and Bat Masterson is almost so stupid that it's good, but not really, just mostly bad.

I'm so sad because I love the cast... but there was no plot, the music was absolutely awful, and everything was predictable.

This series has everything I love - period piece, based on a real person, Christina Ricci! It is lovely to look at with beautiful costumes - but they need to spend some of that costume money on script writers.

I added The Lizzie Borden Chronicles to my watch list a few weeks ago, but when I found out it was a Lifetime show I put off watching it until I had nothing else to watch. I had really low expectations and perhaps that is why I love it so much.

The fact that this story took place twenty miles down the road from where I live, there is one striking element that quickly got my attention. The accents of the characters do not represent the regions' unique variety of northeastern speech.

Ricci's portrayal of Lizzie Borden is captivating enough to give the first episode a shot and if you like it the series only gets better... second episode you get to see Mike from Breaking Bad!

I'm the kind of person that once I start a show/mini-series, I just about always will push through to the end of the first season to give it a fair shake...it is extremely rare for me to just stop watching a show, really just doesn't happen.

When I watched the movie Lizzie Borden took an Ax, I enjoyed it so much that I was hoping for a Sequel. Well...
