When we last saw Dr. Alan Feinstone (Corbin Bernsen), he was being sentenced to a maximum security mental hospital and being menaced by his wife Brooke (Linda Hoffman).

I can not believe people like the poo poo. 4 out of 10 is overrating it.

I don't think anyone was clamoring for a sequel to the straight to video shocker, The Dentist, but it must have done well enough on video to greenlight another installment and, all things considered, it's not awful. The insane doctor has been committed to a mental hospital after the events of the first film and, within the first few minutes of the film, he's escaped.

'The Dentist' was pretty much a series of (okay and better) bloody scenes, but in this one Yuzna tries to build things up more, more like a thriller (although it starts out with a pretty nasty drill scene!).

As a kid, I loved the cover to this movie. It darn near freaked me out.

Corbin Bernsen returns as the hilariously homicidal Dr. Feinstone in THE DENTIST 2.

"You just couldn't have your tooth ache somewhere else, could ya?"The mad dentist escapes, and for awhile, seems relatively sane again, living under an assumed name in small town Missouri.

I was very much reminded of Stepfather II (1989) when watching this dull sequel. A lot of the interesting story and psychosis of the dentist was lost in favour of a boring serial killer story and predictable insanity.

Director Brian Yuzna has crafted a brilliantly inspired film in this sequel to the original The Dentist. Startling, disturbing, and quite suspenseful, this portrait of a mad dentist who wreaks havoc on those in need of dental care is a motion picture you will not soon forget.
