I had no expectations going into this movie and I was NOT disappointed because of it. You have to appreciate the creativity and humor in this film.
This was one of the most unique horror films I have ever seen, and I have seen a ton! Quite bizarre in the best way possible!
As an advocate of independent horror, I try hard to find the positives in even the worst low-budget crapola. The Dark Side of The Womb features a skateboarding dwarf (yes, that's a good thing in my book).
THE DARK SIDE OF THE WOMB is one of those insufferable indie comedies where everyone seems to think they're on to a winner and that this is one of the funniest films ever; it really isn't. The story is too convoluted and ridiculous to bother recounting here, but there's a dwarf protagonist with a mother complex and lots of bad taste moments which are too badly portrayed to be realistic in any way.
Very clever, sort of funny and scary at the same time. It's weird that a movie can mix chill with laughs but it works!
My girlfriend and I occasionally will find some really crazy stuff to watch when we are searching around on amazon prime. I was looking through our watchlist when I came across Dark Side of the Womb, a movie she bookmarked.
