Amazing camera work lighting costumes writing casting and acting. Superb TV so of course cancelled.

I have no idea how accurate any of it is from a historicalism point of view but this is entertaining tv. Just watched it on Netflix and it's got me wondering what else I'm missing over on showtime...

It's 1492 Italy, the Borgias family rises to the Papacy through deceit and intrigue. They have much more in common with the Mob.

Borgias is a superb series of those which are made less and less nowadays with an equal quality. The cast is brilliant.

I waited for such a series about Borgias for a long time and I finally found one! And what a series it is!

I stumbled across this show only for the love of Jeremy Irons. Never heard of this show before and what a ride I absolutely love it.

The most important thing to understand is the movie is about villainy, deeply disturbing villainy, sick to your stomach cruelty and torture. The costumes are magnificent, perhaps somewhat cleaner, sparkling, and well fitting that they were in history.

As far as the writing, the storylines and the quality of the drama are concerned, as well as the historicity, the is a mostly average period piece. The quality of the writing, however, is elevated by supreme production values, with the sets and the costumes absolutely dazzling the audience and bringing the period to life, as well as the acting.

Historically set, nice plot, strong characters good actors and directing. No clue why this show had bad ratings I enjoyed this series.
