Unfortunately this review will be a bit incomplete as the version I saw didn't have subtitles and I don't speak Thai. That said, I have not seen the first movie, but when I heard Tony Jaa had a cameo I looked it up.
If you're expecting to see a new 'The Bodyguard' movie like the one with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner - this is not it. I made that mistake and got a Thai action/comedy.
I was expecting to see Tony Ja in this movie, he only shows up for only 10 seconds or so of the movie. Pumwaree Yodkamol is the only reason the movie was somewhat worth watching and waiting for Tony Ja (I saw the movie via streaming video therefore I couldn't really fast forward).
