A number of posters have commented that this documentary gives insight into the world/mind of the standup comedian. For people who supposedly earn a living by being funny, I was at a loss to understand why anyone would pay to hear any of these people, 90% of whom you've never heard, for obvious reasons.

Not for everyone. But IF it does resonate with you then you will probably love it.

Features some great comedians/comediennes including Robin Williams, Eric Idle, Billy Connolly, Sarah Silverman etc. Some of the ladies were really quite funny although a hundred comics telling the same 'traditional' toilet humor joke is bound to see much scrapping at the bottom of the barrel and wallowing around in the gutter as they dig the depths of depravity.

I had no idea what this was about -- I was just going with a group of friends to a movie a couple of them wanted to see. I love stand up comedy, improv, skits etc.

I just heard about this movie on Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Collosal Podcast and checked it out. I didn't laugh at all during the first 15-20 minutes, but I'm glad I stuck with it -- it picks up!

I didn't know what I was in for, when I saw this. It was funnier than I thought it was.

This is simply the most disgusting, horrific, obscene thing I've ever seen or heard! It's so "in-your-face" I couldn't help but stay riveted to it, the entire video and all its sub-sections.

I went to see "The Aristocrats" after reading the glowing reviews in the NY Times and elsewhere. In retrospect I now find that the reviews were somewhat hyperbolic.

Um, wow, I feel sort of like the last sane man, I'm reading tons and tons of praise for a movie that essentially is the equivalent of thinking it's funny that penis, rape and incest are clearly defined in a dictionary, tee he, seriously? And for 90 minutes!
