I would say this movie will be forgettable but that annoying sound by Baby Godzilla will never go away. All they do is fight giant bugs but I guess it's kind of a Monster Island Origin story so I give props to that.

Story: 6/10Scientists conduct experiments on a long forgotten island but struggle to cope with the dangerous wildlife. Hardly gripping but for a Godzilla film it felt more structured.

Admittedly I am not a huge fan of Godzilla either Japanese, or USA version. I remember back in the day when there was a huge promotion for Godzilla with Matthew Brodrick and it was still lousy, and the studios have been trying ever since.

Ok I have no idea how Godzilla got to have a son or who came up with the idea ... or what they thought.

Having never grown up with Son of Godzilla, I was really pleased to enjoy it a heartwarming, well crafted and all around pleasant film. Usually the discourse is rather superficial dealing with with the say parroting of Godzilla's new appearance as well as Minilla.

I recently watched it with my son (9 yo) who is on a Kaiju movie watching spree. I must say it might turn off some of the adult watchers as the "minilla" character is very much looking like a puppy.

Son of Godzilla, though entertaining, is entertaining for the wrong reasons. This might be the first ultimate "so bad it's good" entry in the franchise.

Why is there a baby Godzilla? Well, Probably to appeal more to kids but that is about it.

Of all the G-films, this one is maligned way too heavily. I just recently bought the DVD, thankfully re-mastered and in Japanese and subtitled.
