The film is quite amusing with emphasis on computer generator spectacle blending live action , though extremely sentimental and film direction by Andrés G. Schaer is passable .
I watched the english dub and wow, the writers didn't even make an effort to match the original mouth flaps produced by the french animators. And don't even get me started on how annoying Ariana Grande's performance is.
This is probably the worst live action-CGI film I've ever watched, probably even worse than the Alvin and the Chipmunks films. My biggest problem was easily the mixing of live-action humans and backgrounds with animals that look like they belong in a fully animated film.
