This one of my fav series to watch i love every season from start to finish always put me on the edge of my seat every time. amazing actors and amazing set pieces.
When i was writing a review about The Incredible Hulk TV series, i was thinking about the great American drama/science fiction/fantasy series there had been. Along with the Hulk, there was The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman TV series in the 70's, then there was a bit of a lull in the 80's.
My life got quite busy and I stopped watching Smallville for a while, when I checked back to see how far I had got into the series I saw that it was only the last series I had left to see. I also didn't realise that it ran for 10 seasons, it didn't seem that long but that's a mark of a great and entertaining series.
Don't let the lame promo for this show fool you, it is better than you think. It is not cheesy like the Superman movies, and it is actually about realistic issues.
Smallville is one of those shows that many comic book fans, after a few seasons anyway, loved to hate. They complained about this or that not fitting in just right with how Superman mythology worked, and in the end they were never satisfied.
Coming right after 9-11, this was a perfect antidote to have a hero come rescue the world. It starts with young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) struggling with his newfound powers, and with high school.
This is absolutely a CW show. By that i mean, actors are usually chosen for their attractiveness rather than their acting ability, and the writing often involves cheesy clichés with overly dramatized idealistic relationships and pedestrian views of science and law enforcement.
I love most of the Superhero shows that are out there (of course there are some that are awful) but Smallville is absolutely one of my favorites of all-time! It tells the story of Clark Kent before he became Superman.
