A look at the beautifully serendipitous circumstances that led up to Tim Minchin working on Matilda the Musical and it's subsequent success. Family and friends unite to tell of Tim's journey from farm kid to struggling musician and writer to theater superstar (all Jesus Christ puns intended).
I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary about Tim's dreams for Roald Dahl's Matilda. My daughter, Eve, has always loved Matilda and fell in love with the soundtrack for the musical instantly.
Being from Perth and now living in Melbourne, I loved the connection to Minchin's home town, it seems so many Perth people have it and I really related to this. I think the presence of his siblings and wife and the fact his sister Nel interviewed Minchin really made for a warm insight to Tim's life, without being too invasive.
