Film Review: Long Way to the Top – Excellent documentary on touring musiciansLate Morning Films documentary Long Way to the Top is the story of some pretty remarkable musicians and their life on the road. How I came to find out about this film is a story in and of itself; it involved a conversation with singer songwriter David Ramirez, who is prominently featured in the film, and filmmaker Rob Montague.
If you grew up in Australia in the 60's & 70's this concert is for you. We had so much great home grown talent, it just took 40 years for everyone to wake up to that.

I know this series received a lot of flak from Australiana music affectionales for neglecting to mention a lot of definitive Aussie talent: Australian Crawl, Icehouse, Renne Geyer, Richard Clapton, James Reyne, Crowded House. The wide coverage of the series, however, was always ambitious at best - spanning some 40 years - that even from the onset it could not be expected to satisfy everyone.
