I've tried watching it twice, though I haven't been able to make through either episode. For me, it's basically just not funny.
It isn't TOO bad, but ultimately it lacks the quality that the Australian series has.The jokes are few and far between, the actors are attractive (they shouldn't be), the film makers think far too much about the cinematography (it's supposed to look like a home video) and it's just like a serious version of Kath and Kim...
Kath (Molly Shannon) and Kim Day (Selma Blair) are a wacky mother and daughter pairing. Phil Knight (John Michael Higgins) and Craig Baker (Mikey Day) are their romantic love interests.
Quick witted, punchy written show is another winner, among the other slap stick shows, and you know the ones I'm talking about. This is the comedy I like, ones that offer frequent laughs, but also biting remarks, and truths about suburbia, with another family that just grows on you.
American viewers need to think outside the square. I enjoy both versions of this show.
After praying for Netflix to drop something funny, Netflix delivered by adding Kath and Kim. How has Australia kept this hidden gem for so long?
Almost the same as UK sitcoms, that daft sense of humour, but written in a superb way. Plenty of laughs, I haven't laughed so much at a sitcom in a while, but this had me rolling around with laughter.
I stumbled onto this show on Hulu and watched the pilot with no expectations. After I finished that episode, after laughing through most of the show, I began my binge.
Although set in early 2000's, this show is nostalgic flashback that I can watch over and over again.... and have.
