Home and away is one of the best shows of all time!I've watched it all my life!
Used to be a good show til they mucked it up: Unlikeable characters, bad writing, contradictory storylines, bad characters being treated greatly while good characters are treated terribly: E.g Maggie Astoni marries her husband Ben not telling him she slept with his brother when they were on a break & made vows promising to be honest & genuine with him through their marriage & then when he left her after her betrayal was revealed pratically the whole entire town ganged up on him & told him it was his fault & that he didn't 'try hard enough'.
When was the last time a new character joined the show that wasn't built like a flawless gym junkie as a male or a flawless stick figure for the females? Considering none of them ever use the gym or do any serious physical activity, how do they expect us to believe them based purely on their physique?
I just watched Dan Ewing in the movie Occupation after having grown up with Home and Away and he's definitely so much better in the movie than he is acting on this tv show.
The Colby Thorne storyline is why this rating cut two stars off this rating. I can't believe Martha Stewart has a troubled alcoholic son, and we never expected it!
All this show is doing is going around in circles rotating the same stories over and over. My wife watches this rubbish and I'd rather pull my eyes out than sit through another episode so please cancel it already.
I've been watching home and away on Channel 7 for many years. Every episode has excitement.
The show has become so sleazy! Used to be good family entertainment, but now just about everyone is sleeping around, bedroom scenes, gangsters, criminals, a crooked policeman, a doctor blurting out her sex dilemmas, and each story is dragged out endlessly.
