Reviews

Series deals with some very serious social issues in a beautiful way .. Gentrification...

This is a good show, with a very good idea underneath, a powerful message, very good actors, and some great scenes. As the episodes advance there's a noticeable improvement in the writing of the main scenes that make everything more cohesive.

Funny and touching. It will make you laugh out loud and bring tears to your eyes.

Really. It's a great show.

In regards to the Mexican American culture, spot on, right down to the Tucanes music! High five for Joaquín Cosió, he was great!

This was a bit slow at the very beginning, but TOTALLY worth it! Other people have commented on the realistic portrayal and I'd totally have to agree.

I seriously love this more and more. Casimoro is one of the best most loveable characters, honestly, love them all.

I am Mexican, I didn't grow up on East LA, not catholic, my parents both spoke English well, but i know my Mexican, and Mexican American culture. No.

Low reviews coming from people who aren't the demographic, can't possibly have perspective on the issues, and are angry about the fact that this story is not *their* story, this perspective is not their perspective. I know it must feel a shock to the system for them, but for me it is the breath of fresh air I needed.
