Goofs

General Mark 'Stonewall' Jackson, played by Alex Cord, is wearing a Class A uniform that is noticeably lacking in any sort of identification, nor unit patches on either of the sleeves.

However the biggest inaccuracy is that the character is an Army General, but his rank insignia on his epaulets are Silver Oak Leaves (which makes him a Lt.

Colonel).

Early in the film, when Dr.

Karen Watkins drives up to the office, her car leaves slightly whitish tire tracks.

When she backs away and drives out, the tire tracks are very noticeable and dark-colored.

These marks are not behind any other cars in view.

The hero says a certain isotope of Lithium would, in a large enough concentration at normal or near-normal temperature and pressure, blow-up in a thermonuclear (fusion) explosion.

It is contrary to physics as known today for any isotope of Lithium or any other element could spontaneously form a thermonuclear explosion except under circumstances of extreme pressure and temperature such as exists in the core of a star like the Sun.

Emergency response such as that shown is the responsibility of FEMA, state emergency agencies, and/or the National Guard, not the Army.

The piece of wood which falls off the dock was obviously neither rotten nor burned to the point of weakness.

To come off the dock as it did, the nails or screws had to be removed.

Supposedly the piece of wood from the dock was charred on its underside by flames from the lake; however, none of the adjacent posts showed any similar damage.

The military equipment shown is long obsolete or not used by the U.

During the water skiing chase the wake from the camera boat is clearly visible.

A vein of highly unstable and volatile pure Lithium gets unearthed by a team of miners and wreaks all kinds of destructive havoc on the small town of Lost Lake. It's up to nice guy seismologist Jake Denning (a likeable performance by Kevin Sorbo) to save the day.

I have seen a great deal of movies in my day. This is the worst one.

FIRE FROM BELOW is a rubbishy disaster movie with a rubbishy story and some very bad script writing. Unsurprisingly, it was directed by Jim Wynorski, a man not known for the quality of his productions, although Andrew Stevens (the actor from '70s fare such as THE FURY) also plays a big part as producer and co-director and has a cameo as a TV journalist to boot.

I was dubious of whether it would work out due to it being SyFy and that it was directed by Jim Wynorski. However I was very intrigued by its idea, and thought to myself if done in the right way Fire From Below could be halfway decent.

"Fire From Below" gives new meaning to the term 'potboiler.' This predictable 84-minute disaster feature about a mining company that exposes a vein of pure base Lithium qualifies as a below-average made-for-television feature.

Well - the 2.7 rating is HIGH.

The Drake Mining Company is set to make a fortune with discovery of isotope L6 while deep cavern mining. The problem with L6 is that it is explosive with water and seeks out wet items such as people, even people on top of a lake of water...

Not even worth mentioning, the stupidity isn't even funny, its just... stupid.

Wow, haven't seen that kind of trash awhile. For the usual TV-consumers it might be better than TV-spots, but it is so simply build that I can't resist to see it to its own end.
