Reviews

Fatso is a tongue and cheek approach to this nations greatest problem. Obesity is funny again and Dom DeLuise exploits his own physical and mental weakness to make us love him for it.

I saw this movie without any expectation that it would be good. But it turns out to be an artful and skillfully developed movie that is comical on the surface but carries deep down a tragic undertone.

This film is not for everyone... You may not be like the people in this film.

The very sad thing about many good movies is that they not only couldn't be made today, they can't be openly enjoyed without criticism. In Fatso, an overweight man is repeatedly harangued by his sister until he joins Overeaters Anonymous to curb his appetite.

I had not even heard about this 2008 movie titled "Fatso" from director Arild Fröhlich before in 2020, when I was given the chance to sit down and watch it. Actually I had the chance back in 2019, but I just never got around to watching it before now.

There are some real classic moments in this film. The hot dog scene where Dom looks at a beautiful girl, then back at the hot dog...

Rite down your ally. semiautobiographical.

Dom Deluise was a very underrated actor if ever there was one. This is a touching and yet very funny and smart comedy, written and directed by Anne Bancroft.

I hadn't seen this movie in a long time. Dom DeLuise does a great job.
