San Francisco lawyer Eli Stone (Jonny Lee Miller) begins to see things, which leads him to discover a brain aneurysm. But his visions guide him to accept moral cases with little monetary gain.
I seriously can NOT believe that ABC has made the WRONG choice to cancel this show, Eli Stone. They are willing to keep smut and soap operas, but when it comes to a show that has taste, talent, excitement, clean living and DECENCY, they look the other way!
Jonny Lee Miller performs way better than I expected after "Smith". The character seems to be written just for him.
I love the concept, heart, and inspiration of the show. A lawyer who takes on cases based upon his visions that may be inspired by God.
It has been years since I watched this. I remember though that very few shows had every made me feel so inspired in my life.
I never really paid any attention to this show and missed the first few episodes then came across it one day when nothing else was on, after watching one episode I had to watch the rest! the illusions had me in fits of giggles!
"Eli Stone" was a magical show, and I am seriously sorry it went off the air.Oh, I thought most (but not tall) of the dance scenes were just too Broadway and silly for my taste.
You might recall Quantum Leap where Scott Bacula leaped into the bodies of characters with the instruction he had to do some good so he might make another leap in the hope he would make the leap home. In the case of Eli Stone you have an attorney with a brain aneurysm who instead of leaps has hallucinations that lead him to legal cases in which he has to do good but he is never sure what good it is he has to do.
There have been many wonderful television shows dealing with transpersonal themes over the years, including "The Twilight Zone" (Alternate Realities), "Quantum Leap" (Time Travel), "The X-Files" (Alien Encounters), "Touched by an Angel" (Angels), and "Joan of Arcadia" (Divine Guidance). These types of shows also appear to be growing in number recently with several superb transpersonal television shows showering the television airways within the past few years, including: "Lost" (Metaphysical Realities), "Life" (Zen), "Life on Mars" (Time Travel), "The Event" and "V" (Alien Encounters), "Heroes," "Kyle- XY," "Chuck," "No Ordinary Family," and "Fringe" (Exceptional Human Capacities), "Legend of the Seeker," "Merlin" and "Camelot" (Magic and Alchemy), and "Eli Stone" (Divine Guidance).
