Every Netflix movie I watched so far seemed like it was written by AI. They all had something going for them, but were just not quite there.
The general story of a guy looking for his long-lost dad and getting into trouble in a small town, with stupidity leading to tragedy, but also changing some peoples fortunes for the good, is OK. But, the execution is not so good, because a lot of what happens doesn't make much sense.
In "El Camino Christmas", Eric Roth (Grimes) arrives to a small town seeking his father (Roth) in what will become a tedious, bizarrely uninteresting film. Marketed as some sort of mixed black comedy/Christmas/hostage crisis film, "El Camino Christmas" struggles with its pacing from start to goal.
I know most people consider this a misbegotten misfire of a comedy. Most people absolutely don't see it as a heartwarming Christmas movie.
Could have been better and only ironicly funny. Good premise for the story and good cast a bit wasted by plot and script.
This movie is actually so good, it deserves much higher than the rate I see now. Maybe coz there's no famous actor other than Jessica Alba??
I agree with the finer points raised by others but few realize this movie was never meant to be on the level of Shakespeare. The movie satireses incompetent cops & small towns, everywhere.
I enjoyed this movie, particularly Tim Allens role. Some poor ratings on here I dont understand why.
Awful film- do not watch. Terrible "story line" and poor use of good actors.
