You get home from a long day at work and want to watch something that doesn't require too many brain cells or attention. What do you turn to?

As a personal 'must see' in the early evenings here in the UK, I catch Eggheads when I can. The show at the time of posting has now been going ten years.

Best program on the TV or at least it was until someone mistakenly thought that Richard Osman could do better. Some of us like to exercise our brain cells and Eggheads provided the ultimate challenge.

I know there are too many quiz and game shows in the teatime slots on television, and Eggheads had run its course after 16 years, but the show was a straightforward 30 minute quiz show where pub quiz teams took on a team of expert quizzers, including Millionaire winner Judith Keppel and the eccentric and amusing CJ De Mooi. Unlike the flashing lights, loud music and overbearing hosts om other quiz shows, Eggheads was a straightforward quiz show with no gimmicks and a likeable presenter in the form of Jeremy Vine.

The questions are of a decent enough difficulty not to exclude people like university challenge does, but there are two problems with this show One is the fact that it takes too long to do anything (they need to get on with it sometimes). Everything takes place so slowly.

I like this show very much. I watch it everyday.

I am quite a fan of TV quiz shows, they allow you to test your knowledge and shout abuse at contestants for getting easy questions wrong. Nowadays it seems the shows presenters are more interested in either getting to know the contestants or verbally abusing them (see "the weakest link" hosted by the most irritating Ginger since Cilla Black) This particular show could have and SHOULD have been much better.

This is a show we never miss; it provides both entertainment and a degree of enlightening knowledge.Sure, there are irritating aspects in the annoying blue set and occasional robot-like host Jeremy Vine.

As a big fan of general knowledge quizzes, I tune in to Eggheads even though I am not totally swayed by it. Even so, it is probably better than most BBC quiz shows, and that includes the irritating and past its sell-by-date Weakest Link.
