The plot of this movie is very similar to what Invasion of Astro-Monster was only the plot takes place on Earth rather than another planet. And personally, I am much more of a fan of that movie than I am this one.

1968's "Destroy All Monsters" ("Kaiju Soshingeki" or Monster Attack March in Japan) was Toho's 9th Godzilla entry but the one intended by director Ishiro Honda to close out the entire series. Jun Fukuda was at the helm for the previous two entries, "Godzilla vs the Sea Monster" and "Son of Godzilla," neither of which saw any stateside release, so with virtually every one of Toho's giant monsters assembled for a last hurrah it was only natural for Honda to take the reins on the franchise that he created.

No this is not the best best monster rumble godzilla final wars is in my opinion but its not far behind . People praise this movie because there's a crap ton of monsters but more monsters doesn't make a great movie but this is good movie but it's no masterpiece .

This is the Toho film that everybody remembers, the one that brought together all of the famous Japanese monsters for a gigantic fight. The film is jam-packed with absurd plot, lots of action and excitement to make it one of the best Godzilla movies ever created, if only the 1998 GODZILLA could have been like this, then I might have enjoyed it a lot more.

How about if we put monsters in this that fight each other? Solid kaiju idea, right?

This story in the ongoing franchise takes place towards the end of the 20th century. The great monsters of lore have been rounded up and safely deposited on an island which they are unable to leave.

Destroy all Monsters has to be the most overrated of all the classic Showa films. Most of what occurs in this film was done better in previous films.

Filled to the brim with scenes of destruction, a great final battle and a human plot that never bores, Destroy All Monsters is an example of what all Godzilla movies of this type should strive to achieve. I say that because some entries like Shin Godzilla and Return of Godzilla are very different to this type of ensamble film.
