Separated from their regiment after a brutal night of fighting German troops, a small band of soldiers from British Company Y find themselves lost on the battle ground surrounded by a dense fog. After in indeterminable amount of time wandering around the men stumble upon a German trench, occupied by several German soldiers who have apparently lost their sanity.

"Deathwatch" seems to be a film that has been shunned by many professional critics, as being another low budget, gore-fest horror. However this film is truly under-rated, considering the budget compared to that of many other horror movie's to come out of the likes of Hollywood.

It's a question one day many of us will ponder when death is upon you, do you know you've died do you keep playing the game. There's one definite answer, and only one person has understood it other then myself.

The plot: During World War I, a group of English soldiers capture a German trench and begin to suspect that something evil is hiding among them.Michael J.

Don't expect to see some typical horror slash'em-up or creature feature. This movie is one of those psychological horrors of war type of films.

2014 is the centenary of the "war to end all wars", as they called it then - the war to which young men were pushed into joining, cheered on by civilians at the home front who had not the faintest idea what the fighting involved. In this film,we see the reality - trenches full of glutinous mud, corpses stuck in the mud, the wounded eaten alive by rats death in all forms - death by shell and bullet,by spiked club (they really did use those for trench raiding parties), death by bayonet and barbed wire.

DEATHWATCH is one of the best of the military horror films. During World War I, British soldiers find themselves occupying a German trench behind enemy lines.

The trapped-soldiers-menaced-by-supernatural-evil sub genre briefly flourished around the turn of the millennium. Low budget ghost story productions like THE BUNKER and THE TRENCH proved their worth, so it was inevitable that a bigger-budget film would emerge, although DEATHWATCH is still low budget by many people's standards, with some dodgy CGI work here and there and early battle scenes which aren't too convincing.

A group of British soldiers during World War I during one of the many pointless assaults on machine guns and barb wire end up becoming lost in no man's land. After walking in a fog for over an hour they stumble onto what they believe is a German forward trench.
