I appreciated this amazing and surprising TV mini series, which I Just discovered now. I prefer this one if I compare it with HBO famous TRUE DETECTIVE, also setting in a southern countryside town, around a serial killer case.

Chiefs was one of the best mini-series of the 80s, it's the story of a town in the deep south state of Georgia. It's seen through the eyes of a leading citizen and civic booster Charlton Heston.

I remember when this 6-hour miniseries was released back in 1986. Thankfully, they also showed it in syndication after its initial release, and I was able to record the entire series (commercials and all).

The original 3 part mini-series still holds up. Still waiting for this masterpiece to come to dvd.

In the late 70s and early 80s, there was a craze for miniseries - not full soap operas like Dallas and Dysentery, but not short shows like The Twilight Zone, originally shown by ITV under the banner of Best Sellers. One such miniseries was called Once Upon A Murder.

Police chiefs from all over America gather together for an annual conference held in Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii in October, 1968. The police chiefs talk about the Black Panther Party and the riots at the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, Illinois as well as check out the latest weapons designed to help the police with crowd control.

Presents the facts that involved majour chiefs of the First Nation of America in a fair way, the mistakes, the misunderstandings etc. some of the reconstructions might look a little bit cheesy, but they are always accurate.

I lived in Chester, where Chiefs was filmed, while I was in college. EVERYONE in town talked about the making of the movie, and their interaction with the actors that were in it.
