"Carita de Atún" (Literally translated as "Tuna Face", a parody of the Mexican child telenovela "Carita de Angel", which means "Angel Face" in Spanish) was intended to be some sort of spiritual successor of the Peruvian television show "Pataclaun", done by the same creator, with the same actors and having a similar style of humor. The beginning of the series was very promising, making a clever parody of the most common clichés and over-the-top melodrama from soap operas, combining it with lots of wacky humor and even some whimsical elements one would find in a fairy tale (For example, the main character had a sarcastic fairy godmother) However, after some episodes, the parody of soap operas is put aside, and the show started to became too wacky for its own good, with absurd and unconvincing plots, some of which seemed like recycled (or rejected) stories from "Pataclaun": In fact, the characters from this series even wear the same outfits they used in that television show during one chapter.
