Reviews

This is one of those films where you find yourself sitting and thinking: "What was the director and star thinking?" To start with, who was the intended audience?

The critics came down hard on this film when it was originally released-- and many still are--but in truth, "Boat Trip" is an intensely likable, appealingly energetic, throw-your-head-back funny romantic/sex comedy that is powered by two factors: Cuba Gooding Jr.'s charm and the trio of women headliners', namely Vivica A.

This is a movie to laugh and enjoy. Just watch it.

I can't believe a former Oscar winner is starring in a movie about a gay cruise. Either Cuba has picked mostly bad scripts or isn't offered much even after Jerry Mcguire.

It is refreshing to see a Class A actor like Cuba Gooding Jr (and veteran like Roger Moore) do a boorish, yet bawdy film. Granted the humor isn't clever and plot line a bit contrived, but I do appreciate a down to earth effort to put forth this type of film in a stiflingly politically correct society.

This film is not perfect, but I really enjoyed watching it. Sure; it is offensive, crude, weak, etc in places, and that drags it down in the final analysis, but buried amongst the crap was a good idea and some really funny one liners and situations.

After being dumped by Vivica Fox, Cuba Gooding Jr. agrees to go on a boat cruise with Horatio Sanz.

Boat Trip (2002): Dir: Mort Nathan / Cast: Cuba Gooding Jr., Horatio Sanz, Roger Moore, Vivica A.

Were this movie released today, it would be the subject of a lot of ire. After botching his proposal, Cuba's character ends up suddenly single and depressed.
