I'm a great fan of Iannucci's previous work but what on earth (or off earth) happened here? I'm a Brit so understand satire, irony and already knew that this was never going to be a Sci-Fi show.
This show is a chaotic incoherent mess. It's not awful, but not good.
I generally don't start watching a show with great expectations and thank goodness I didn't. You do have some good actors here and I see that the writers have tried to inject some humor in this but , Josh Gad is definitely not funny, terrible presence and delivery of his lines.
Subtle humour. Not a sci fi .
Watched all the episodes so far and I can't find a category for it. It's not a comedy, not even dry humor.
Stereotypes and swear words is not funny! The story has no depth same as the acting.
It's well written , well acted and really quite sweet at times.Give it a chance.
Not sure why so many low reviews for this series. I've been watching weekly and have died laughing so many times.
I have to admit I chanced upon Avenue 5. I was looking for a new series to get in to, and the plot sounded promising.
