The film starts with an African named 'Goor' walking up a railway track, beginning his quest to retrieve a tribal mask that he has given away to a German lady tourist whilst in Africa. This film has many elements but I note it for its spontaneous outbreaks of surrealism(sudden cold winter scenes featuring excerpts from a Wagner operas).
