Dance band leader
Dance-band conductor and instrumentalist who performed internationally. He was also the one who saw the potential in and bought such successful BBC shows as "Whats My Line" and the radio shows "Twenty Questions", "Ignorance is Bliss", and "The Names the Same".
Trained at the College of Music in Manchester. First performed on violin at the age of fourteen in silent picture theatres.
After the big band era came to an end, Winnick became a booking agent and producer for TV shows.
