Marianne Hold

Ran away from home at the age of 15, ending up in Rome working in the kitchen of a Protestant convent.

Started her career in the editing department of Cinecitta Studios in Rome, where she was discovered by Gabriel Pascal.

Worked in real estate on the Balearic island of Majorca in 1991.

Owned a small vineyard in southern Tyrol.

Her father, a German soldier, was killed just before the end of World War II.
