Biography

Prominent South African singer - songwriter and poet. Also worked as teacher and journalist and editor. Born in Rustenburg in 1945 and died in a car accident near Krugersdorp in 1984. His contribution to South African music, particularly as composer, is regarded as one of the most influential to date and his song 'Kinders van Die Wind' is widely regarded as the best song written in Afrikaans.
