Played two different, completely unrelated "Star Trek" characters who were murdered by the despotic computers that oversaw their societies for trying to reveal key information to Captain Kirk, Spock and Dr. McCoy: Tamar in "Return of the Archons" and an unnamed old man in "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky".
Portrayed one other character in "Star Trek" . In the series original pilot starring Jeffrey Hunter as Capt. Christopher Pike, Jon Lormer portrayed Dr. Theodore Haskins, one of the "survivors" projected by the Talosians on the planet Talos IV. So in total, he was on the show 3 times, not twice, although it was an un-aired pilot.
Tall, emaciated-looking, white-haired character actor, who first acted on the New York stage in 1936 (American Holiday,Murder in the Cathedral) and later taught drama, as well as directing plays at the American Theatre Wing (the organisation famous for creating the Tony Award). Lormer acted in early live TV shows and was often featured on screen in stern or dour roles.
Was only a year older than Katharine Hepburn yet played her father in "Rooster Cogburn".
He is the only actor to make credited guest appearances in each of the first four seasons of "The Twilight Zone" .
