Biography

Jamie A. Morton was born on January 1st 1980 in Glasgow. His father is actor Alexander Morton . At the age of seven Jamie appeared as himself in an episode of Glen Michael's Cavalcade, a Scottish children's television show. His big break came at the age of ten when he played Don Winters in David Hayman's Silent Scream starring Iain Glen as Larry Winters, a prisoner of the Barlinnie Special Unit in Scotland. Robert Carlyle, Billy Riddoch, Alexander Morton and John Murtagh also starred. His last television appearance was in 1994 when he played Neil McVicar in The Yugoslav Hitman, a docudrama feature film detailing events in Fife in 1988 when a Yugoslavian Assassin was sent to murder Nikola Stedul an outspoken freedom fighter in exile in Scotland. He played alongside Alexander Morton who played his on-screen father. The production starred Derek Lord as Stedul.

Trivia

Lived with flatmate and fellow actor Tommy Flanagan (Braveheart, Face Off, Gladiator) in 1995-1996. Both became proficient at computer golf on the Sega Mega Drive II.

Attended interviews for the casting of Braveheart in 1994 at the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland. Interviews were given by Mel Gibson.

Gained legal custody of his younger teenage siblings, Samuel (Sam) and Jennifer (Jenn) Morton in 2007.

His wife was born in 1981 in East Germany (GDR). His first film Silent Scream was premiered in West Berlin before the reunification. His future wife was behind the Berlin Wall involved in amateur dramatics. Silent Scream won several awards including the Berlin Silver Bear for Best Actor and the Michael Powell award for British Film of the Year.

Christened "Jumika" by Billy Connelly in 1981.

He has recently finished his first book and is working on a second and third.

He now goes by the name A. J. Morton and was recently nominated Secretary of Scotland for the Nicola Tesla Memorial Society of New York. His colleague, Leonid Leonov (Secretary of Russia) was the first man to walk in space.

After eleven years, quit his career in acting at the age of seventeen and took up writing and photography.

(October 2003) He emigrated to Germany in 2003 where he married his fianc, Stefanie Harnoth.
