Heitor Teixeira Pereira was born in Brazil and has worked for Brazilian jazz musicians such as Ivan Lins and Lani Hall. In July 1988 he joined Simply Red as a guitarist and stayed with the band until 1996. During that time he shortened his name to Heitor TP. In 1994 he released a solo album called "Heitor" with the help of some of the other Simply Red musicians. He now lives in California, USA with his wife and two children and is currently working on film music together with Hans Zimmer as well as his solo career.
He usually works with Hans Zimmer: The Road to El Dorado, Gladiator, Mission:Impossible 2, Pearl Harbor, The Pledge, Riding in Cars With Boys.
