Biography

Hannah Morris is an East Texas born actress from a theatrical family. She grew up tagging along with her mother and step-father to rehearsals at the local community theatre where she was surrounded by actors, actresses, crew, and directors with whom she would eventually work. Summers were spent in theatre camp where Morris received a well rounded education in the art under the tutelage of Jan E. Jones. Much of Morris' acting experience comes from the stage including roles of Jessie Cates in 'Night Mother and Louise Seger in Always, Patsy Cline. Morris spends much of her time offstage filling the role of stage manager, director, and sometimes writer. Her original character "Harvianne Wallbanger" was brought to life in the play Harvianne's Halloween Hoedown on the APEX Theatre 20 stage in 2010. Harvianne has since made other appearances in shows under her name and in the children's program Saturday Morning Kidcom which Morris writes. Morris has directed a handful of shows in the East Texas area including God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza, Sylvia by A.R. Gurney, and The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler, and co-directed 'Night Mother by Marsha Norman to name a few. Her first on-camera appearance in "Kids Get Arthritis Too" won her an Emmy Award in 2001. Since then Morris has appeared the video "Preparing Children To Testify In Court" and in web series The Dreamer and more notably Serial Suburbia. An artist with philanthropic leanings, Morris has used plays to raise money for Women's Center of East Texas, Spay. Neuter. Now., and Epilepsy Foundation. In 2010 she appeared in a production of The Laramie Project which raised money for Health and Human Services of East Texas and East Texas Cares. With the Slightly Amusing Theater Company Morris lends her talent providing entertainment to children waiting in line at Coats For Kids.
