Liberian footballer and politician
Is a liberian politician and former international soccer player. He ran for presidential office in Liberia in 2005, but unsuccessfully lost to challenger Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf. George Weah is also a humanitarian, and he won the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2004 ESPY awards. He is also a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador. While playing soccer, his clubs included: Monaco FC (1987-1992), Paris St Germain (1992-1995), AC Milan (1995-1999), Chelsea (1999-2000), Manchester City & Olympic Marseille (2001-2002). In 1995, he was awarded European Footballer of the Year, and FIFA World Player of the Year.
My father died when I was young and I was raised by my grandmother, Emma Klonjlaleh Brown. We could afford to eat chicken just once a year, on Christmas.
