Biography

During the 1950s and 1960s, she made dozens of guest appearances on such television programs as The Twilight Zone, Dr. Kildare, Felony Squad, Gunsmoke, Daniel Boone, and Mannix. She had a short role as Doris Schuster on Peyton Place. She also appeared on daytime's Bright Promise as Ann Boyd Jones . Kobe began to work behind the camera as supervising producer and associate producer on such daytime programs as The Edge of Night and Return to Peyton Place. In 1982 she became executive producer of Texas during its final few months. She then became executive producer of Guiding Light where she stayed from 1982 to 1987.

Featured actress in the Dana Andrews NBC 1969-1971 drama series "Bright Promise", Gail Kobe developed a strong friendship with the shows Producer-Director Gloria Monte. With Glorias help, upon cancellation of "Bright Promise", Gail transferred to the NBC-Fox drama revival "Return To Peyton Place" from 1971-1974, as a producer with the NBC-Fox producing team. When this daily series was canceled, Gail moved to Cincinnati, Ohio working with the television division of "Proctor and Gambel", representing a close affiliation between the Proctor and Gambels television client associates.
