Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for Williams (1994-1995), McLaren (1996-2004), and Red Bull Racing (2005-2008).

In his Formula One career, Coulthard won 13 Grands Prix, took 12 pole positions, set 18 fastest laps and scored 535 World Championship points.

After winning the British Grand Prix in 2000, Coulthard flew in a Learjet 35 from Farnborough, UK, to Nice, France, which crashed at Lyon-Satolas airport after an attempted emergency landing due to engine trouble whilst en route. The planes pilots, David Saunders and Dan Worley, died in the crash attempting to perform an emergency landing, while Coulthard, his then-fiance Heidi Wichlinski, and his fitness trainer Andy Matthews survived. Despite bruised ribs, Coulthard was able managed to drag them both to safety through a rear cabin window. Five days later, Coulthard took a podium finish at the Spanish Grand Prix, and went on to win two more GPs that season.

Released his autobiography "It Is What It Is" in 2007, admitting that he suffered from bulimia as a teenager.

Lives in Monaco, where he was formerly part-owner of the Columbus Hotel.

Is engaged to Karen Minier. They have one son, Dayton (b.November 2008).

Good friends with Allan McNish , Jacques Villeneuve and Jenson Button.

Martin Brundle was his manager from 1998 until his retirement in 2008.

Is now an analyst on the BBCs Formula One coverage, along with remaining a consultant with Red Bull Racing.

He was awarded the MBE in the 2010 Queens Birthday Honours List for his services to Motor-Racing.

(August 2005) Is currently racing for the Red Bull Formula One team.

Announced his retirement from Formula One. He will continue to work with Red Bull Racing as a consultant. Is also to become a father in November 2008.

He is still running with McLaren Team, but his contract expires end 2004, so he will have to find another team, because Juan Pablo Montoya will take his place at McLaren in 2005.

(January 2005) He left McLaren at the end of the 2004 season and will now race for Red Bull Racing in 2005.
