Chris Mast is from southeast rural Ohio, where he grew up making films with his brother and friends. His father would operate the camera, act in most of their movies, and also help conceptualize story lines, which usually meant stealing plots from other films, such as a family favorite: "Fletch." Chris went on to graduate from Ohio University in Film & Video Production, where he clicked in with a community of aspiring filmmakers who he now works with in Los Angeles. Chris often collaborates with his joke-mate Logan Leikam, under the company name "Thupernatural."
