Biography

Burt Kwouk was a British actor, he was best known for his role as Cato in the Pink Panther films, and for play Mr Ling in the third James Bond film Goldfinger. Kwouk was born in Warrington, but was brought up in Shanghai. He made his film debut in the 1957 film Windom's Way. In Goldfinger Kwouk played the part of a Japanese operative of Blofeld. He also made appearances in many television programmes, including a portrayal of Imperial Japanese Army Major Yamauchi in the British drama series Tenko and as Entwistle in Last of the Summer Wine. Kwouk died on 24 May 2016, at the age of 85.

Born in Britain but raised in Shanghai, he is best known as Cato in the Pink Panther movies.

Although he was born in Warrington, he considered himself Chinese and not British.

He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2011 Queens New Years Honours List for his services to drama.

Has acted in both the Doctor Who Franchise and Eon James Bond series.

He was dubbed in You Only Live Twice .

He and his "Thursday Theatre" {Naked Island (#1.18)} co-star Lewis Fiander both died on May 24, 2016.
