It was interesting because I[m from Belize. I like other books by this author, especially Beka Lamb, which I would highly recommend.
I read nearly every one of Zee Edgell's novels since Beka, and Time and the River is another worthy read. Edgell's pace is careful and accurate, giving attention to every aspect of Leah's love and of the conflicts raging all around her.
This is the fourth novel from Belize's leading author, Zee Edgell (Beka Lamb, In Times Like These, The Festival of San Joaquin). It centers on Leah, a young slave in the Belize settlement.
