Peter and the Wolf

Narrator Yadu sets up the classic story by introducing the characters and the individual musical themes that represent each one. His voice has an appealing storytelling quality but is not intrusive. The rich music itself, played by the London Philharmonic, directed by Stephen Simon, takes center stage.

I chose it in remembrance of a much earlier version narrated by Eleanor Roosevelt. This one is a little advanced for my five-year-old great granddaughter, but she may come to treasure it.
Purchased for a 7 year old great granddaughter, it has delighted both of us. I am very familiar with the piece, but it was new to her and interesting for her to equate a musical instrument to an animal/person in the story.
This was very nostalgic to me, as I listened to it often while I was yound. My kids however, did not find it quite as cool as I did.
